- Involve your children when you choose a borrower. It's a great way to teach them about other countries and cultures.
- Mention 'Genealogists for Families' to your family history group, seminar audience, etc.
- Invite your family and friends. Non-genealogists are welcome!
- Spread the word via your online social networks (our Twitter hashtag is #KivaGFF).
- Put a link to 'Genealogists for Families' (http://genfamilies.blogspot.com/) in:
- Your email signature.
- Your stationery or flyers.
- Your profile on Blogger, Twitter, Google+, Facebook, LinkedIn etc.
- Your blog posts (see these examples).
- A stand-alone page on your blog (Pauleen's page is a good example).
- Your business cards and genealogy conference 'trading cards'. I design and order my cards (free except for postage) online.
- Raise funds for future loans:
- Do paid online surveys.
- Organise a social event.
- Put small coins from your pocket or purse into a jar until you have $25 for a loan.
In 2011 we won an award for Best New Community Project. Join genealogists worldwide (and our relatives and friends) who have found a simple way to make a big difference.
We enable people without access to traditional banks (including many women) to expand their businesses, educate their children, save for the future and raise themselves out of poverty. Through Kiva, a non-profit organisation working with microfinance institutions, you choose a borrower to support with a loan of just $25. Similar loans by other lenders are combined until the required total is reached. As your money is repaid you can withdraw it or lend it to someone else. Money that is loaned over and over again does more good than a one-time donation. Join 'Genealogists for Families' - together we are making a difference!

All great ideas Judy and hopefully we'll progressively spread the word. Thanks for the link - I'm a firm believer in Kiva.
